oh Mr Chase...

I can't seem to get enough of photographer Michael Chase's work. His photography plays on textures and colours that contrast one another so simply. Can someone say pastel and colour block?

Market day in the Cape...

As crazy as this may sound, I made the great trek from Joburg to Cape Town on Friday morning. But oh was it well worth the drive. Milnerton Market was the first stop on Saturday. I love nothing more than a good bargain on some beautiful vintage pieces. The morning consisted of spending under 50 South African Randjies (I know right??!!!) on 2 leather belts and 2 bags, one being a clutch, the other, a forest green  weekender bag with leather trimmings.  Will couldn’t help himself to the brief and suitcases for less than 100 ZAR. We had to seriously consider how these would fit in the boot on the drive home but bought them regardless.
The hype of all our purchased gems was giving off some serious cravings for pizza and a local friend whisked us off to The Woodlands Eatery in Vredehoek. It has a cosy and comfortable vibe with the friendliest owners and an enchanted forest atmosphere. If only they were in Joburg. Their Feta and garlic Focaccia is the crispiest most flavoursome I have had to date, and aren’t drenched and dripping in stringy cheese. Just the way I like it. By lunch time the place really started filling up, which is always a good sign.  After much lounging about I made world record time for getting ready for a wedding that was held at Simonsig Wine Estate that afternoon.
All I can say is thank goodness for hairspray.
